![]() In comparison to that which has already made it to the public eye, this is the most detailed material on the “Croatian connection” in the international arms smuggling chain. With an annex of photographs and a list of seized weapons, the document is comprised of 17 pages. The report in places refers to information collected by the “Croatian intelligence community”, most likely HIS, which until 2000 was intensively involved in reconstructing the network of Croatian arms smugglers. The third contains a list of names of 30 Croatian citizens – together with their addresses, date and place of birth, and vehicle registration numbers – who founded these illegal arms factories. The second chapter is dedicated to the abuses of the American and Israeli licenses under the sponsorship of the former military company RH Alan, which was managed by General Vladimir Zagorec. The first concerns the volume of the Croatian production of ‘Uzi’, micro-uzi, ero, micro-ero, ‘bereta’ and TEC 9 weapons. This report reveals a shocking fact: that the core of this underground industry has for years been based in Hrvatsko Zagorje, a seemingly pastoral region which in the perception of the Croatian public is thought to be the model of a tame and peaceful mentality. ![]() In recent days, Nacional has come into possession of a report by a national branch of Interpol from 2002, which refers in detail to the significant role of Croatia in the illegal production and distribution of weapons on the European black market. ![]()
